Parade Information


The Fort Findlay Bicentennial Parade will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012. We invite your organization to be a part of 
this celebration of our community’s history . We are encouraging you to register to participate by building a float for the parade. This is a great opportunity to show your team spirit, creativity and support for our community.  See the attached registration form along with the rules and regulations.

The Bicentennial Parade will be held on June, 14, 2012. We invite your organization to a part of the celebration of our community's history.  We are encouraging you to participate by building a float for the parade. This is a great opportunity for you, your group or company to show your community spirit and celebrate your creativity.  If you have questions regarding building or the design of your float, please contact Pat Garlock at pgarlock@e-fnb.comWe want this to be a pageant of floats like no other parade seen in Findlay.  All vehicles must be pulling a float. Have fun!


Float Rules:  Height limit – 13’  from ground. Width – must be able to make turn from Main St. left onto W. Main Cross St. All vehicles must be pulling a float. No minimum size on floats. 

When: Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. Line up at 5:30 p.m. at Marathon Parking Lot.

RouteYou can begin lining up at 5:30 and not before.  It is first in, first out.  If you have a large float please email us because we may bring you in another way.  To line up at 5:30: You will come down Blanchard Street to Lincoln and turn right.  You will then be routed from there.  

The parade will begin on E. Lincoln St. with units organizing in the Marathon Petroleum Corporation parking lot. Units will proceed north on Main St. turning west on Main Cross St and end at West St.  No candy will be distributed to the parade watchers.

Judging: Float judging will take place near the corner of Main Cross St. and Main St. during the parade (more information will be sent closer to the date of the parade)

Design: All entries must meet design guidelines or will not be allowed into the parade. 

Performances:  If your group wishes to perform during the event, please let us know.  We will have you stop and perform in front of the judges.
